Guaranteed Catch Fishing – No License or Gear Required
Tired of waiting hours for a bite? At Seeping Springs, everyone catches fish—guaranteed. If you don’t catch at least one rainbow trout, your fishing excursion is on us. Our ½-acre catch pond is stocked exclusively with quality rainbow trout, most measuring over 10 inches, and many weighing more than a pound. Some of our guests have even landed 20-inchers!
We provide all the fishing gear and bait, including classic bamboo cane poles. You don’t need to bring equipment, and no fishing license is required. We don’t allow outside gear to keep our pond clean and our fish healthy. For the same reason, catch-and-release is not permitted—you keep what you catch, and we’ll even clean and bag your fish for free.
Cook Your Catch with Our Trout Recipes & Grill Kits
Our trout aren’t just fun to catch—they’re also great for dinner. Whether you like your fish grilled, baked, or pan-fried, we’ve got you covered. Visit our online recipe library, featuring both traditional trout recipes and flavorful new ideas using High Mountain Jerky Seasonings from Wyoming.
We also sell a grill kit (minus the grill) that includes everything you need to cook up to four fish. Prefer to filet your fish at home? We offer quality knives, including the small utility knife we use for cleaning trout and a reliable filet knife for more detailed prep.
Need to take your fish on a road trip? We sell ice and insulated bags, plus tips for freezing trout in portion-sized ziplocks to enjoy later.
OK, all this sounds good so far, so you ask “HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST ME!
Well first let’s look at what it will cost you to go fishing in State Stocked Waters:
Resident of NM | Non-Resident of NM | |
Adult Annual License | $25.00 | $56.00 |
Jr. (12-17) Annual License | $5.00 | $15.00 |
Habitat Stamp | $14.00 | $14.00 |
Bait | $5.00 minimum | $5.00 minimum |
Pole | $15.00 minimum | $15.00 minimum |
Per Junior Total Cost | $39.00 minimum | $49.00 minimum |
Per Adult Total Cost | $59.00 minimum | $90.00 minimum |
If you get lucky, maybe you catch 1 or 2 puny fish, that are so thin you can’t even clean them or they disappear. More than likely all you catch is a headache from irritated kids because they aren’t catching any fish.
Here you won’t need a fishing license, pole, or bait and you don’t have to clean your own fish.
You only pay for what you catch and you can catch as many as you want! Also, if the kids manage to get bored before you catch anything your fishing adventure is free.
Your cost is 95 cents per inch for the trout you actually catch and a $4.00 permit for your group (as long as all the fish travel together). Your cost will look like this:
Number of 11 inch Trout | Total Cost with Permit (+Tax) |
1 | $14.45 |
3 | $24.90 |
4 | $35.35 |
5 | $45.80 |
6 | $56.50 |
When you stop to think about it, 95 cents per inch sounds pretty good. You can catch a lot of fish for what it would cost you to license up, buy equipment and maybe not catch anything at all.
